SRVUSD Hosting 'Teachers For Tomorrow' Info Session Wednesday

The Teachers for Tomorrow Residency program offers student teachers the opportunity to work with SRVUSD mentor teachers for a stipend.

The following is a press release from the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.

DANVILLE, CA — SRVUSD is recruiting for a second cohort of future teachers in its Teachers for Tomorrow Residency Program, in partnership with Saint Mary’s College. A virtual information session will be held on December 11th: bit.ly/TeachSRVUSD.

Following the success of the first cohort, the district looks to recruit a second group of twenty aspiring teachers, specifically in the areas of Special Education and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The Teachers for Tomorrow Residency Program is funded entirely by a grant awarded to SRVUSD by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) and has no financial impact on the district budget.

"By combining hands-on classroom experience with the academic excellence of Saint Mary’s College, aspiring teachers will be fully prepared to step into their own SRVUSD classrooms with confidence and skill."

"The support from our experienced SRVUSD mentor teachers is invaluable, and we are excited to invest in the next generation of educators who will continue our legacy of excellence in SRVUSD," said Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Melanie Jones.
