SRVUSD One Of Best School Districts In Bay Area For 2025: Niche
SRVUSD was once again ranked as one of the best in the Bay Area and California by education website Niche.

DANVILLE, CA — The San Ramon Valley Unified School District was once again ranked one of the best public school districts in California by ranking website Niche.
Niche ranked SRVUSD as the second best school district in Contra Costa County (behind Acalanes Union High School District in Lafayette), the 10th best in the Bay Area, the 30th best in California, and the 175th best in the United States. See here for all the district's rankings.
The district received an overall grade of A+, based on quantitative data and parent and student surveys. Its academics and college prep both received an A+, its teachers received an A, and sports received an A-. It was ranked lowest in Resources & Facilities (B), Administration (B), and Food (C+).

The district received similar scores and rankings for 2024, though its rankings in the Bay Area and California dropped slightly, from 9th to 10th and 27th to 30th, respectively.
Monte Vista High School received an overall grade of A+, and was ranked the third best public high school in Contra Costa County, beating out traditional winner Dougherty Valley High School, which was ranked fourth and also received an A+. California High School received an A, and was ranked the 10th best public high school in Contra Costa County, and San Ramon Valley High School received an A and was ranked 13th in the county.

The private 6-12 Athenian School in Danville also scored well. It received an A+ and was ranked the second best private high school in Contra Costa County, the seventh best boarding school in California, and the 34th best private high school in California.
Nearby, Dublin Unified School District scored an A+, and was ranked third in Alameda County and 38th in California. Pleasanton Unified School District scored an A+, and ranked first in Alameda County, as it has for a few years, and 11th in California.
The Palo Alto Unified School District was ranked the best public school district in California, while the Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 north of Chicago was ranked best in the country.
