DANVILLE, CA — A suspicious, possibly armed man seen prowling around Park Hill Road in Danville early Friday morning remains on the loose, according to the Danville Police Department.
At 2:36 a.m., Danville police received a report that a man was seen in the backyard of a residence on the 600 block of Park Hill Road, near Morninghome Road. He was described as a Middle Eastern male wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants. Witnesses said he appeared disoriented, and was running as if fleeing someone. One witness said he had what appeared to be a handgun, and asked them to contact the police.
They did, but he had gone by the time they arrived. Danville officers, Contra Costa Sheriff's Office deputies, and K9 units conducted an extensive search of the area, police said. Crews deployed a small Unmanned Aerial System equipped with thermal imaging to cover a broad area, and went door to door and sent out community notifications. Despite these efforts, the man was not located.
