Triple-Digit Weekend Expected In Danville, Some Cooling Centers Open
Highs are expected to hit triple digits Saturday and Sunday in Danville, and the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory.
DANVILLE, CA — Danville can expect another scorching weekend of triple-digit temperatures. The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning from Saturday at 11 a.m. until Sunday at 11 p.m. applying across the inland Bay Area. The NWS warns of “dangerously hot conditions with temperatures in the 90s to near 110 inland. Overnight lows in the 60s in the valleys, 70s and 80s in the hills” throughout the North, East, and South bays, as well as the Santa Cruz mountains and interior Central Coast.
In Danville, highs are expected to climb to 96 Friday, but will feel like 99. Saturday will see highs of 104 (and feel like 106), and Sunday will see highs of 100 (and feel like 104.) Highs will drop to 92 Monday, then to 86 Tuesday, and remain in the upper 80s for the rest of the week.
The Bay Area Air Quality Management has also issued a Spare the Air Alert for the region, warning of unhealthy air quality due to smog. Residents are advised to stay indoors except for in the early morning, and try to avoid driving to minimize car exhaust.

The National Weather Service recommends the following safety tips:
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Avoid spending time outside if possible, and stay out of the sun
- Know the signs of heat stroke, which include a throbbing headache, confusion, nausea, dizziness, fever, strong pulse, fainting, and more
- Keep the air conditioning on
- Wear loose and lightweight clothing
- Never leave young children or pets unattended in a vehicle
