Stroke Support Group of Contra Costa County Meeting
What:The support group will feature speaker David Blaschka, a personal trainer focusing in older adult exercising. Attendees will break up into three coping groups: stroke survivors without aphasia, stroke survivors with aphasia, and caregivers and families of stroke survivors -- each group led by a trained professional.
When: Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.

9/11 Remembered at Memorial Park
What: The Exchange Club will host San Ramon Valley's annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Guest speakers, scouts, SRVH chamber choir and doves, according to the San Ramon Express.

Audition for Danville Girls Chorus
What:Â The non-profit Danville Girls Chorus is holding auditions for new singers for 3rd to 8th grad girls
When: Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 4:30 p.m.

'Anna Christie' Film starring Greta Garbo
What: Greta Garbo's first talking movie will screen as part of the O'Neill Versus O'Neill Festival Event.
When: Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
Where: Village Theater, 233 Front St. in Danville

Musical Dance Class for Youth and Teens
What: All participants will sing, act, and dance, performing scenes and a jazz dance from a popular musical theater production. Previous shows include The Little Mermaid, Annie, Wicked, and The Lion King.
When: Friday, Sept. 13. Ages 7 to 11, 4-5 p.m.; Ages 12 and up, 5-6 p.m.

Veterans' Night at Monte Vista Football Game
What: Monte Vista Mustangs play the Pittsburg Pirates and honor veterans with free admission and food.
When: Friday, Sept.13, junior varsity at 4:30, varsity at 7 p.m.
Where: Monte Vista High School 3131 Stone Valley Rd.
How much: Free for veterans, with free hot dog, drink and apple pie.
'Anna Christie' performance by Role Players Ensemble
What: As part of the 14th annual Eugene O'Neill Festival, the Role Players Ensemble will perform 'Anna Christie' though Sept. 21.
When: Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

Jam and Bread
What: Learn the process of making bread from the wheat field to the oven. Learn the methods of canning so you can make your own jam (which goes wonderfully on bread!).
When: Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
