6 Del Mar Runners Ran at Boston Marathon, Site of Fatal Explosions, Many Injuries

Six Del Mar residents took part in the Boston Marathon on Monday, where explosions claimed the lives of three people and injured scores near the finish line.

According to the Boston Athletic Association site, the following Del Mar runners participated in the race:

• Janet Chenier, age 57, 4:00:06
• Mark Cullivan, age 45, 3:01:59
• Christian Heckscher, age 61,  (no finish time. Half 1:59:05)
• John McGreevy, age 37, 03:08:09
• Megan Mohebbi, age 59, 03:48:26
• James Pathman, age 48, 03:55:33

These marks are “gun times,” but not the actual times from start to finish, since many thousands of entrants don’t reach the starting line until minutes after the gun goes off.

A seventh runner from Del Mar registered, but did not have start or finish times.
