WEST COVINA, CA — As plant-based menus grow in popularity with diners, barbeque hotspot Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, with San Gabriel Valley and nearby locales in West Covina, Rancho Cucamonga and Rosemead, is launching its first vegetable-centric entrée for those who embrace meatless meals — the Slow Smoked & Grilled Cauliflower Steak.

The cauliflower steak, featuring a thick cut of cauliflower, marinated in Lucille’s special seasonings, slow-smoked, grilled and topped with housemade chimichurri sauce, is served with garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed seasonal vegetables and more chimichurri sauce for dipping.

“Our guests appreciate how our slow-smoked style gives our ribs, brisket, chicken and pork their succulent flavor,"said Joan Hansen, Lucille's marketing director of the chain, which operates 23 restaurants across California, Nevada and Arizona. "Now we’re taking that same approach with this new Slow Smoked & Grilled Cauliflower Steak, that is richly satisfying in a familiar and distinctively Lucille’s way.”
