Man Found Dead in Industry Parking Lot

The body of a man who suffered injuries to his upper body was found Wednesday near Industry, sheriff's deputies said.

The body was discovered shortly before 6 a.m. in the 13900 block of Valley Boulevard, an unincorporated industrial area known as Bassett, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, who said homicide detectives were assigned to the case.

"Deputies found the victim ... unresponsive in the parking lot behind the location," a sheriff's statement said. "The victim also had injuries to his upper torso."

The man was about 45-50 years of age, according to the coroner's office. His name was being withheld until his next of kin has been identified.
