Police To Return To Pomona Unified Campuses: Report
The Pomona Unified School District did an about-face Wednesday, reversing a decision to end having an armed officer patrol at schools.

POMONA, CA — Police officers will soon return to Pomona Unified School District campuses after the Board of Education signed off on a new agreement with the police department Wednesday, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reported.
As part of the agreement with the Pomona Police Department, two campuses safety resource officers will patrol the district's schools, the paper reported. Pomona Unified has schools in Pomona and Claremont.
The decision is a reversal of a 3-month-old move the district made in June to remove police officers from campuses.

Superintendent Richard Martinez said the district is bringing back officers while also “reimagining and retooling” policing at schools, the Daily Bulletin reported. Officers will have to receive ongoing training in several topics, including restorative justice and de-escalation, the paper reported.
