Dublin Buildings, Trails Closed As Storm Rolls In
Batten down the hatches: a second atmospheric river is here. Here's what Dublin residents need to know.

DUBLIN, CA — All Dublin facilities are closed to walk-in customers ahead of another atmospheric river that is expected to bring more flooding and high winds to Dublin. Phone lines will remain active and answered until 5 p.m. The Dublin Library remains open, but may close early, the city said.
All city trails are also closed until further notice. Residents are advised to stay away from canals and creeks. See here for a full list of street closures.
As of 3:30 p.m., the city is under a High Wind Warning until 10 a.m. Thursday, and an Areal Flood Watch until 4 p.m. Thursday. Winds are expected to steadily increase, peaking at 46 mph at 10 p.m. Roughly 0.2 inches of rain are expected to fall every hour.

So far, no major power outages or evacuations have been reported in Dublin. Earlier Wednesday, 1,907 Pleasanton residents lost power around Pleasanton Sports Park early in the morning, though it was restored by about 11 a.m. Residents along Niles Canyon Road near Sunol have also been asked to evacuate due to storms, saturated soils, and runoff, according to the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services.
The city said it is prepared to set up a shelter at Shannon Community Center.

Residents are advised not to travel. If travel is necessary, residents are advised to stay in the center lanes to avoid flooded areas, and never attempt to drive through flooded areas. If you witness a fallen tree, call Dublin police at 925-462-1212. If you see a damaged power line or electrical equipment, call 911 immediately.
Sandbags are available to all Dublin residents at the City of Dublin Corporation Yard at 5709 Scarlett Court. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels, and limit the number of bags to 10 or fewer. Bags are also available at the Alameda County Public Works Agency’s Maintenance and Operations Corporation Yard at 4825 Gleason Drive. Over 2,500 Dublin residents filled up sandbags Tuesday alone, the city reported.

- Gathering at least a 3-day supply of non-perishable food and water.
- Have immunization records handy.
- Check your emergency supplies.
- Bring in outdoor items or tie them securely.
- Keep your car fueled and cell phone charged.
- Avoid low-lying areas subject to flooding and don’t drive in flooded areas.
- Never drink flood water. During a water advisory, use only bottled, boiled, or treated water for drinking.
- Listen to boil advisories to know if water is safe for bathing and drinking.
Unfortunately, sunlight at the end of the storm tunnel is far away. Rains will continue into Thursday, and let up Friday, but are expected to continue until at least Sunday, Jan. 15.
