Dublin Launches Marketplace App

The app allows consumers to gain Dublin CityDollars by shopping at participating businesses.

DUBLIN, CA - The City of Dublin has launched a new Marketplace app that allows users to earn redeemable points through shopping at local businesses.

Consumers who log purchases at participating Dublin stores, restaurants, and service providers into an app will receive cash-back rewards known as “Dublin Dollars.”

The loyalty rewards program is a central feature of the city’s Business Recovery Playbook. The city used funds from the American Rescue Plan Act stimulus and partnered with app developer Reach to create an app to help businesses and consumers keep track of purchases and rewards.

“This program will provide our businesses with a competitive advantage while rewarding those who shop in Dublin,” Mayor Melissa Hernandez said when the Council approved it in October. “This is truly a win-win program that will support our brick-and-mortar establishments. The Dublin Marketplace is particularly important to our diverse and hard-working small businesses who represent the uniqueness and beauty of the City.”

The ReachPlaces app is available on the Apple App Store. To get started, create an account, and browse the app to see which businesses are participating. Customers can activate businesses they want to patronize, and any money spent there will be logged into their wallet. They can present that digital wallet at other participating businesses in the future.
