Dublin Lucky Supermarket Closed Permanently
Locations in Dublin, Fremont and Millbrae all closed their doors for good on Nov. 3.

DUBLIN, CA — Friday marked the end of an era in Dublin, when Lucky Supermarket at the Fallon Gateway shopping center closed due to what company officials said was “underperformance.”
Locations in Fremont and Millbrae also closed on Friday, according to an SFGate report. Save Mart Companies, Lucky’s parent company, also blamed “underperformance” at those locations. A Larkspur site also closed in April, while a Capitola site closed in August.
Locations remain open in Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon. The future of the site on 2480 Dublin Boulevard is still unknown.

The Dublin location opened in March 2018 and was built as part of the chain’s new Lucky California brand, which catered especially to the tastes of California and Bay Area consumers. Unlike other locations, the Dublin location featured a number of amenities like a large deli, tasting bar, bakery, and floral center.
Save Mart, based in Central California, still operates around 200 stores under the banners of Lucky, Save Mart, and FoodMaxx.
