Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu Announces 2026 Re-Election Campaign
Hu kicked off her re-election campaign at an event attended by two Alameda County supervisors and several local mayors and vice mayors.

DUBLIN, CA — Mayor Sherry Hu announced her re-election campaign for 2026 at a kick-off event Sunday at the Aloft Hotel in Dublin attended by several local leaders.
Hu was first elected to the Dublin City Council in 2020, and was elected mayor in 2024. Hundreds of supporters showed up Sunday to endorse Hu, including Alameda County Supervisors David Haubert and Lena Tam, Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano, San Ramon Vice Mayor Sridhar Verose, San Ramon City Councilmember Marisol Rubio, and Fremont City Councilmember Yang Shao.
At the event, Hu shared updates on Dublin’s accomplishments during her tenure as mayor, including maintaining one of the strongest city budgets in the region, which includes a $36 million General Fund surplus and $325 million in reserves; the opening of more than 100 new businesses, and continued investments in public safety and cultural and community events.

Before becoming mayor, Hu served on a number of local boards and committees, including:
- Executive Board Member of East Bay Community Energy
- Commissioner for the Alameda County Library Advisory Commission
- Member of the Dublin Unified school District Liaison Committee
- Member of the East Bay Regional Park District Liaison Committee
- Member of the Zone 7 Water Agency Liaison Committee
- Senior vice president of the Women Wealth Symposium
- Senior advisor at the US-China Energy Efficiency Alliance
- Board member of the Chinese Institute of Engineers
Hu has a Ph.D. in architectural engineering, as well as professional credentials in mechanical and electrical engineering, financial planning, project management, and more.

“Sherry is doing an outstanding job, and it is my honor to support her again,” said Alameda County County Supervisor David Haubert, who served as the mayor of Dublin from 2014 to 2020.
“As a Tri-Valley community, we share regional challenges. Sherry works well with all of us and can take the lead to tackle those challenges together,” San Ramon Vice Mayor Sridhar Verose said in a statement.
If re-elected in 2026, Hu will serve another two-year term. So far, no challengers have announced their candidacies for Dublin mayor. For more information, visit sherryhu.com.
