Dublin Offers Composting Options For Christmas Trees
Residents have several options to discard their trees in an environmentally friendly way.

DUBLIN, CA — Discarding Christmas trees is one of the most bittersweet annual traditions for many, but Dubliners can at least take solace in so doing, they can help the community and the planet.
To compost the tree, residents should cut the tree into small pieces and place it in their green compost cart at any point. Residents can also:
- Drop trees off at designated dumpsters at the Dublin Sports Grounds parking lot from Jan. 3-31.
- Give to the Boy Scout Troop 905 on Jan. 4 and donate $10. Spots must be reserved here by 3 p.m. on Jan. 3.
- Place the tree on the curb for pickup on regular AVI collection day by AVI. This option is available for single-family homes from Jan. 6-31.
Trees must be free of flocking and tinsel in order to be composted.
