  • Lawn To Garden Party: The city is teaming up with Zone 7 Water Agency to host the Lawn to Garden Party, which will transform part of Emerald Glen park into a low-water garden. Staff will guide volunteers on how to convert grass into drought-tolerant, low maintenance garden areas. Volunteers will also learn about water conservation rebates and water-saving gardening techniques.
  • Compost Giveaway: Dublin residents can take home one bag of free compost from 8-12 at Emerald Glen Park, courtesy of Amador Valley Industries. The compost is made from Dublin residents’ yard trimmings and food scraps.
  • Prescription Drug Take-Back/Document Shredding/E-Waste Collection: Residents can bring prescription pills, tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of prescription drugs to the Drug Take-Back event, which will take place from 10-2 at the Dublin Civic Center. Residents can also bring old documents until 1 p.m., and electronic waste.

The whole week, residents are encouraged to donate food to the Children’s Emergency Food Bank. Donations receptacles are located at the Dublin Library, Civic Center, Shannon Community Center, and The Wave.

Residents can also take part in the Plogging Challenge, in which participants walk or jog, and pick up trash along the way.
