DUBLIN, CA — Starbucks has permanently shuttered its Dublin location at 7197 Village Parkway.

The store closed for good Feb. 5, according to a notice posted at the door. Managers thanked customers, who they called "the heart of who we are at Starbucks."

"It has been a great pleasure to connect with you every day," they wrote. "We are very thankful to have played a role in your daily routine and that you have shared these moments of your life with us."

Last summer, the coffee giant considered closing up to 400 locations through 2021 as it looked to focus on quick pickup options such as drive-thrus, and curbside and mobile-only pickup stores, as USA Today reported.

Some 80 percent of Starbucks transactions were on-the-go prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, Starbucks said in a statement. Opening more pickup stores will make it easier to maintain social distancing.
