DUBLIN, CA — Dublin High School senior Amogh Arepally will play for USA Cricket's U19 men's team during the International Cricket Council World Cup in Sri Lanka, Dublin Unified School District announced. Arepally is the second DHS student who has played in the Cricket World Cup, following DHS senior Anika Kolan, who plays for the US women’s national cricket team and played in the 2021 Women’s World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe.

Arepally was recently one of 14 players to be selected for Team USA’s Under 19 Men’s Team at an event in Van Nuys. In August, the newly-formed team won the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier in Toronto, beating Canada. This means that the American team will compete at the Cricket World for the first time since 2010.

Arepally and the rest of the team will travel to Sri Lanka to play in the Cup late January and into February.
