Dublin Student Speaks At UN Conference
DHS junior Divyansh Agrawal spoke at the UN Climate Conference on Youth on his efforts founding a youth climate advocacy organization.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin High School junior Divyansh Agrawal spoke at the United Nations Climate Conference on Youth on his efforts with the Junior Philanthropists Foundation, a youth-led environmental advocacy organization.
Agrawal founded JPF to help empower youth to take meaningful actions to protect the environment. It has grown into one of the largest youth-led environmental advocacy organizations, featuring a network of over 10,000 youth leaders. They have helped advocate for 18 environmental policies in California, which touch on issues like carbon dioxide emissions, access to clean water, and enhancing climate resiliency. JPF has also developed a climate education curriculum that is currently being implemented in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
"I founded JPF because I believe that when young people are equipped with knowledge and support, they can achieve the extraordinary—and together, we can create a future where both people and the planet can thrive," Agrawal told Patch in an email.

JPF has been selected as an official Knowledge Partner of the United Nations Climate Conference on Youth, and Agrawal was selected to speak in Baku, Azerbaijan from Nov. 7-9. At the conference, he discussed how young people can create impactful policy changes by leveraging community engagement and evidence-based solutions, and shared strategy on legislative advocacy, developing educational programs, and fostering partnerships across sectors.
"The collaboration at the conference was electric. From impromptu strategy sessions in hallways to passionate debates during panels, every interaction reinforced the power of collective action. For the first time, I truly understood the scale of the youth climate movement—not as isolated efforts, but as an interconnected force capable of reshaping the world. It was transformative to witness this unity, and it deepened my resolve to continue pushing for change, as I really knew that I was part of something far greater than myself."
