Dublin Students Receive Outstanding Athletic Awards

Nine Dublin students were honored for outstanding athletic achievement in a ceremony attended by mayors and superintendents.

DUBLIN, CA — Nine Dublin students were among 37 in the Tri-Valley to receive Outstanding Athletic Awards. The students were recognized for outstanding athletic achievement in TV30’s twelfth annual Outstanding High School Athletic Awards, which were attended by Dublin Mayor Melissa Hernandez, Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown, Livermore Mayor John Marchand. DUSD Superintendent Chris Funk, PUSD Superintendent David Haglund, LVJUSD Superintendent Chris Van Schaack, and Supervisor David Haubert also attended.

Foothill High School Volleyball Coach Dusty Collins received TV30's 2023 Outstanding Coach Award. During his nearly 30 years of coaching, the girls teams have won seven league titles, two NCS championships, and nine League Championships. The boys teams have won four NCS and nine League Championships.

“But more important than the wins are the ways Coach Collins has impacted the players’ lives both on and off the court,” said Tri-Valley Sports Final broadcaster Ian Bartholomew, who presented the awards alongside Tim Sbranti.
