Dublin, Under Red Flag Warning, Urges Fireworks Caution

The city is asking that safe and sane fireworks only be used in approved locations, and not near dry brush or hillside.

DUBLIN, CA — The City of Dublin and Alameda County are asking anyone who purchased fireworks to avoid hillside areas subject to the Red Flag Warning in effect until Friday. The neighborhoods most at risk include:

East Dublin:

  • Cydonia Court
  • The entire Tassajara Hills neighborhood

West Dublin:

  • Western portion of Bloomington Way
  • Western portion of Marwick Drive
  • West of Creekside Drive
  • The entire Schaefer Ranch neighborhood
  • All properties south of Martin Canyon and west of Dublin Heritage Park

The fire department also strongly advises against any fireworks within 50 feet of any dry brush. Fireworks are strongly advised against anywhere near Wallis Ranch, Positano, or Jordan Ranch.
The city strongly recommends that safe and sane fireworks be used only at Emerald Glen Park, Alamo Creek Park, Shannon Park, or the Dublin Sports Grounds.

The use of any fireworks that are not safe and sane (i.e. fireworks that explode or fly, and weren’t purchased from approved retailers) will be subject to severe fines and/or arrest. Dublin police will patrol all neighborhoods on Thursday to look out for illegal fireworks.
