DUBLIN, CA — Dublin residents can pick up free grocery boxes each Wednesday this month.
The Dublin Unified School District is participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farmers to Families program, which connects food distributors who have lost business amid the closure of restaurants, hotels and more with food banks, nonprofits, and community- and faith-based organizations that serve the community, according to the USDA website.
The program began in response to the coronavirus pandemic and has delivered more than 140 million food boxes so far.

Support Patch's Efforts To Feed Hungry Families

Patch has teamed with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 50 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. This is a Patch social good project; Feeding America receives 100 percent of donations. Find out how you can donate in your community or find a food pantry near you.
