Earthquake Felt Across Bay Area: USGS
People around NorCal reported feeling an earthquake, with a surprising epicenter.
BAY AREA — A 5.6 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter 17 miles southeast of Silver Springs, Nevada was felt around Northern California, according to the U.S. Geological Society's "Did You Feel It?" survey.
The quake occurred at 3:08 p.m. PT, according to the U.S. Geological Society. Several smaller quakes ranging from 2.5 to 3.2 followed over the next 10 minutes.
No injuries or damages were reported as of 3:34 p.m.

People in Pleasanton, San Francisco, Brentwood, Stockton, Tracy, Lodi, Modesto, and more reported feeling the quake. One person in Playa del Rey, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, even reported feeling it, though to a lesser extent than up north.

Monday's quake comes four days after a 7.0 quake in Sonoma County was felt all across the region, triggering a tsunami warning that was later canceled.
