Emerald High School Names New Principal
Former Assistant Principal Lenni Velez is replacing Francis Rojas, who resigned last week.

DUBLIN, CA — Lenni Velez has been named the new principal of Emerald High School, the Dublin Unified School District announced Wednesday. Velez replaces Francis Rojas, who resigned abruptly and without public explanation last week.
Velez began her teaching career as a math teacher at Dublin High School in 2005. In 2016, she became an assistant principal at DHS, and served there for six years until accepting a position as assistant principal at Emerald High School. Her 17 years of experience helped recruit staff, establish academic programs, set graduation goals, and build school culture.
“Being able to reward the hard work and dedication of a staff member who has been with us for nearly two decades, is extremely gratifying,” DUSD Superintendent Chris Funk said in a statement. “Lenni’s dedication, experience, and deep understanding of our school district, and the Emerald High community, make her the ideal candidate for this position. Promoting from within not only recognizes and rewards her commitment to our district but also ensures continuity and stability for our students, staff, and parents. We are confident that her leadership will continue to elevate Emerald High and foster a positive and supportive learning environment."
