Emerald High School Opens New 3-Story Academic Tower
The completed Phase II of construction features 39 new classrooms, and new facilities for broadcast technology, dance, theater, and sports.
DUBLIN, CA — Emerald High School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Phase II of construction, the highlight of which is the construction of the school's second academic tower.
The three-story building contains 39 classrooms, including standard classrooms, and rooms for engineering, culinary, and Regional Occupational Program classes. The new tower also offers views of the Emerald High School stadium.
Phase II also includes a new broadcast technology classroom, a dance facility, and a dressing and makeup room for dance and future theater productions. Other aspects of Phase II include updates to the Emerald High stadium, the addition of home and guest restrooms, a ticket booth, concession facilities, a grounds building, and a Maintenance & Operations building.

All facilities will be in use once the 2025/26 school year starts Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The next major project will be the construction of the Catherine C. Kuo Performing Arts Center, a part of Phase III that is scheduled to be completed in early 2027.

Emerald High School, Alameda County's first new high school in over 50 years, opened in August 2024, and welcomed 950 freshmen and sophomores.
