H Mart Files Formal Application For Dublin Store: Report
The popular Korean grocery chain filed an application for a grocery store with a play area and outdoor seating at the Dublin Retail Center.

DUBLIN, CA — H Mart, a popular national Asian grocery chain, has filed a formal application for a store in Dublin, Pleasanton Weekly reported.
According to the city development projects website, H Mart is applying to take over a 10-acre, 27,237-square-foot site on 7884 Dublin Boulevard, which once housed Orchard Supply Hardware. The application also includes outdoor seating and a play area. The developer has also applied for a 6,343-square-foot warehouse for storage.
The city is reviewing the application. After that, it will need to go through three public Planning Commission hearings, city spokesperson Shari Jackman told Danville San Ramon in September, after the chain signed a lease for what could be its fourth Bay Area location and its first in the East Bay. The chain currently has two locations in San Jose and one in San Francisco.

The store is a favorite among Asian foodies. Still, it will face competition in the Bay Area: Seoul-based grocer Mega Mart opened its third U.S. store this month in Fremont, and Japanese dollar-store Daiso leased a 5,250-square-foot space in San Francisco’s Parkside Merced.
