Hanukkah In The Tri-Valley 2024: Where To Celebrate
From ice skating to menorah lightings to latkes, the Tri-Valley is offering many ways to celebrate the Festival of Lights.
DUBLIN, CA — Christmas may be over, but the Festival of Lights is just beginning. Hanukkah, an eight-day holiday celebrating an ancient Jewish victory against the Seleucid Empire, began on Christmas Day, and lasts until Thursday, Jan. 2. The Tri-Valley is full of events to light the menorah, spin the dreidel, exchange gifts, and enjoy latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly-filled doughnuts.)
Saturday, Dec. 28
Chanukah Under the Stars, in front of the Bankhead Theatre, Livermore. 7:30-8:30 p.m. Light the Livermore menorah, enjoy a live music concert. Get showered by Hanukkah gelt chocolates, courtesy of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, and enjoy latkes and sufganiyot. Free admission.

Sunday, Dec. 29
City Center Chanukah Celebration, City Center, San Ramon. 4-6 p.m. Enjoy a family-friendly Hanukkah celebration at Alexander Square.

Chanukah on Ice, Tri-Valley Ice, Dublin. 6 p.m. Skate to Jewish and Israeli music, and enjoy a menorah lighting on ice. $20 per skater.
Monday, Dec. 30
Sunol Menorah Lighting, Sunol Community Park. 5:30 p.m. The town will light its community menorah in a free celebration open to the public.
