Letter To The Editor: Nwamuo Demonstrates Leadership As Doctor

A letter to the editor from Monique Demartha:

Dr. Dawn Nwamuo has transformed our Breast team at Kaiser Permanente and I believe she can do the same as the Dublin School Board Trustee. When Dr. Nwamuo joined our team, I had already been working in the department for 15 years. I personally witnessed the continuous progression of change she drove through her leadership skills that turned our department around from low performing to high performing. It was immediately clear that Dr. Nwamuo operated with one goal; to drive changes for the betterment of the patient. Dr. Nwamuo gives 100 percent and encourages our team to do the same. She motivates and inspires the team with a listening ear, department and community building activities, and breast cancer support accessories - some see personally designs (shirts, pens bags, water bottles, pastries etc). She also continuously provided resources to help build a unified front including designing a technology program called "Patient Inspired Navigation Communicator” (PINC) to better serve the patient and keep the team in constant communication! She has provided workshops, and given breast seminars to create a culture of continuous learning.

I am confident that Dr. Nwamuo’s leadership skills, compassion and ability to create a learning environment will be an invaluable asset to Dublin schools. Also her medical knowledge will guide Dublin schools through the pandemic.
