Local Resident Makes Case For School Board Candidate
A resident in Dublin's Area 5 lays out his arguments for the incumbent.

DUBLIN — Letter to the Editor:
History says Vote Cherrier
There has been a long debate about the need for a new high school in Dublin. Student growth projections have indicated the need for a second High School, yet school board after school board did nothing to plan for such an obvious eventuality. Since being elected two years ago, Trustee Cherrier has changed the conversation and trajectory and now we finally seem closer to new high school.

Dan Cherrier has advocated for a second high school for almost a decade - often being a lone voice. He has been keenly focused on delivering a 2500 student comprehensive high school, and rejected moves to deliver a second rate school. His leadership prevented disastrous decisions like the 2-3 vote against the acquisition of 13-acre warehouse that likely would have only served 1300 students at capacity. He continuously advocated for appropriate planning and funding for the new school. He has a clear vision of maintaining educational excellence and ensuring wise decision making. Trustee Cherrier understands that tough decisions are required, but has demonstrated strong judgment.
He can’t do it alone, and needs the community support. Trustee Cherrier remains uniquely qualified to serve as a Area 5 Trustee. But more importantly he advocates for our interest and kids. As Vice President of School Board, Trustee Cherrier is a strong leader, and we can’t risk a change at this critical juncture.
