More Rain To Hit Dublin: What To Know

DUBLIN, CA — After a brief respite Wednesday, the rain is coming back Thursday, and it's making up for lost time. After a total of 17.5 inches fell across the Bay Area Tuesday, the region is expected to see about 0.25 to 1.25 inches more Thursday. After that, temperatures are expected to plummet to lows in the 30s, likely leading to widespread ice.

"By Thursday morning another plume of moisture will reach the coast as a surface low-pressure system develops offshore," the National Weather Service said. "Compared to the atmospheric river on Tuesday, this system will be much weaker in terms of both wind and rain. Rainfall amounts are generally expected to be 0.25 - 1.25 [inches]."

The city provides free sandbags available to be filled at the Dublin Corporation Yard at 5709 Scarlett Court. Pre-filled sandbags are available, but a self-serve, sandbag-filling station with sand, shovel, and bags is available if pre-filled sandbags are gone. See here for more information.

The National Weather Service also advises cleaning gutters and drains of leaves, driving slowly on wet roadways, and allowing for extra travel time.
