Quarry Lane Summer Academy - Advancement and Enrichment Opportunities

Last minute spots are still available for Quarry Lane's Summer Academy program including for-credit, UC-approved math and science courses.

Summer is just around the corner and we are looking forward to an exciting summer at Quarry Lane School. Select slots are still available for Quarry Lane's Summer Academy and Summer STEM programs for families that are making summer plans. Quarry Lane offers summer programs for students entering Jr. K through Grade 12, including a variety of for-credit, UC-approved science and math courses. Learn more about the various programs below.

Lower School Summer STEM Academy (Students entering Jr. K-Grade 3)
The Summer STEM Academy is a one-of-a-kind STEM-based program featuring a full day of STEM exploration. This unique experience creates an environment for students to discover science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through material and concept exploration. This program offers a full-day schedule with before- and after-care options. Summer STEM Academy is offered in three individual sessions for the following age groups.

Entering Jr. K & Kindergarten:

  • Session 3: July 28-August 8

Entering Grades 1-3

  • Session 1: June 16-July 3 (Closed June 19)

Summer Academy Courses (Students entering Grades 4-5)
Exercise your creative writing muscles this summer in the Creative Quill Summer Reading, Writing & Publishing Program! Expand your fundamentals of grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and critical thinking as you create your own publish-ready piece. If you're looking to hone your competitive math skills, the Math Masters: Competition Skills & Strategies course is the perfect session for you! This course is designed to prepare students for math competitions such as CML and MOEMS, and will consist of logic puzzles, math games, and practice tests that build number sense and metacognition. These courses are offered in two sessions (Creative Quill is a morning session; Math Masters is an afternoon session.)

Middle School Summer Academy Courses (Students entering Grades 6-8)
Quarry Lane offers a variety of enrichment courses for students looking to explore new skills, keep their brains and bodies active, and have fun! Math courses are offered as 6-week sessions and enrichment courses are offered as 3-week sessions. Students may enroll in both 3-week sessions for a full 6-week program.

MS Math Sessions (all math courses are offered as 6-week sessions)

  • Pre-Algebra Bridge
  • Algebra I*
  • Geometry*
  • Algebra II*

3-Week Enrichment Courses:

  • Dynamics of Critical Reading and Creative Writing
  • Intro to Public Speaking (Speech) and Augmentation (Debate)
  • Robotics & Engineering
  • Theatre Workshop

High School Summer Academy Courses (Students entering Grades 9-12)
Quarry Lane's highly sought-after Summer Academy courses are offered as 6-week, for-credit sessions. Students looking to advance and/or become eligible for higher level courses during the school year may enroll this academically rigorous program.
