'At Risk' Man Missing from Hayward Last Seen in Dublin

Darryl Iwahashi, 68, resides at an independent living facility in Hayward.

DUBLIN, CA — An at-risk man with several mental disorders went missing from Hayward on Monday night and Alameda County sheriff's investigators are asking for help finding him. Darryl Iwahashi, 68, resides at an independent living facility in the 200 block of Sunset Boulevard in Hayward but was last seen in Dublin, possibly heading to BART, at about 9:10 p.m. on Monday.

However, he doesn't know the BART system and has no money or cellphone. He is afraid of people and won't ask for help to get home, sheriff's officials said. He is described as a Japanese man standing 5 feet 3 inches tall weighing 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white shirt and gray zip-up hoodie when he was last seen, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone who sees Iwahashi has been asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
