Special Olympics Torch Passes Through Dublin
Dublin deputies and Olympians brought the Special Olympics Flame of Hope through the heart of town.

DUBLIN, CA — Members of Dublin Police Services, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, and Olympic athletes carried the Special Olympics Torch through town Thursday as part of the 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run. The torch made its way through the Tri-Valley en route to the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games at Santa Clara University.
Crews took the torch, officially known as the Special Olympics Flame of Hope, from Shannon Park in Dublin past the Dublin Civic Center to cheering crowds. It eventually passed through downtown Pleasanton and Livermore, raising funds for the Special Olympics.
The flame arrives Friday at the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games at Santa Clara University. From June 28-30, athletes from around the world will compete in swimming, track, bocce, and tennis. See here for more information.
