Echo Park Lake: Is New Building a Restroom or a Pumphouse?

An unfinished concrete structure has appeared at the southeast end of the dry lakebed.

On Sunday, we were admiring the new concrete wall going up along the Echo Park lakebed when we noticed something else new--also of concrete.

A new structure at the southeast end of the lake looked to have been very recently poured in to place.

Another couple looking with us agreed: they had not seen the structure before.

We speculated together: was it a restroom, a new office or a pumphouse to keep water in the lake circulating?

There are already two sets of bathrooms along the lake, as well as the historic boathouse and some buildings used by city workers.
