Late Night Metro Weekend Service Starts Friday

New timetables for Metro trains and the Orange Line include new late-night hours that take effect Friday night and early Saturday, according to Metro's blog The Source.

The three Red Line stops along Vermont give visitors easy access to Los Feliz, Silver Lake and Echo Park from Universal City and North Hollywood, as well as Downtown and Pasadena via the Gold Line.

For anyone heading out on Saturday or Sunday, service will run until 2 a.m. with some trains departing later. The last Red Line train leaving downtown toward North Hollywood departs Sunday at 2:17 a.m. — that's two hours later than its previous schedule.

The following timetables are now available:

• Red Line / Purple Line
• Blue Line
• Green Line
• Gold Line
• Expo Line
• Orange Line

Metro officials have said they hope the new service will and help the economy by allowing theater-goers to grab a drink after a play or movie.
