Trio Arrested on Suspicion of Car Theft in Historic Filipinotown
L.A. Rampart Division apprehended two 17-year-olds and an adult male early Saturday morning following a chase and search, according to authorities.

Police arrested three males on suspicion of strong-arming a man for his white Volvo early Saturday morning in Historic Filipinotown.
A man was getting into his car at 3:14 a.m. in the 1600 block of Rockwood Avenue this morning when three people approached, threatened and overpowered him, taking the car, said Lt. Wes Buhrmester of LAPD's Rampart Division. The car was later seen by officers about an hour later at the corner of 2nd Street and Lucas Avenue, triggering a 30-second chase that ended at Union and Beverly.
"Two of the suspects ran, but one of them, a 17-year-old, had some trouble getting out of the car," Buhrmester said.

A K-9 unit was eventually summoned and aided in the capture of the two remaining suspects, another 17-year-old and an adult male. Buhrmester said there were no dog bites, and that one suspect was found hiding under a car while the other was behind the corner of a house.
