• Cal Cities calls on the Governor to invest in homelessness and housing, public safety, and climate change in the state budget (publicceo.com) — El Cerrito residents may be interested to know that their mayor, Gabe Quinto, is leading statewide city officials in urging the Governor to boost funding for homelessness services, housing, public safety, and climate resilience in the upcoming state budget. The coalition wants restored homelessness funding, protection of local revenues, more disaster-preparedness and climate investments, and full funding to implement voter-approved Proposition 36, arguing cities can’t sustain essential services without stronger state support.
