15-Year-Old Allegedly Punches Walmart Loss-Prevention Officer After Shoplifting
The teen was arrested Thursday evening in Elk Grove.

Elk Grove Police say a teenage boy shoplifted from the Walmart on Elk Grove Boulevard, then became violent when he was confronted.
According to a police department crime log, the 15-year-old boy was stopped by the store'sΒ loss-prevention officer around 7 p.m. Thursday after the officer saw the boy leave without paying for some merchandise.
"When confronted, [the teen]Β refused to stop and began fighting," the crime log states. "[The teen]Β punched the loss prevention officer in the face. [The teen]Β continued fighting until EGPD officers arrived."
The 15-year-old was arrested and taken to juvenile hall. The loss-prevention officer was visibly injured, but didn't require medical treatment, according to police.
