Green Acres is looking to expand its chain of plant nurseries to Elk Grove, but its plans hinge on the city's OK.
"It is still a twinkle in our eyes at this point," Green Acres owner Mark Gill said in a prepared statement. "It's a hope but a lot of it is out of our hands and is up in the air."
Green Acres is asking the city of Elk Grove to rezone a property at 9260 E. Stockton Blvd. It's currently zoned for office properties, and Green Acres has requested it be changed to a commercial zone.
The change would also have to be made in the city's general plan.
"We are waiting on a few outstanding items but continue to work with Green Acres to move the project forward," city spokeswoman Christine Brainerd said in an email.
