New 'Fake Tree' Cell Tower Could Come to Elk Grove

5 Things to Know in Elk Grove This Week:

AT&T could build an 85-foot-tall pine tree near Sheldon Road and East Stockton Boulevard, but first it needs to get city approval–because it would actually be a cell phone tower.

The Elk Grove Planning Commission will consider the item at its meeting, 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 8400 Laguna Palms Way. The full agenda is here.

Last week the Elk Grove City Council approved new rules limiting door-to-door salespeople, gave the city manager a raise and increased the grant funding some nonprofits and local projects will get.

The CSD's annual Hot Summer Nights concert series begins again this week, and features different musicians each Friday in August at Laguna Town Hall, 3020 Renwick Ave. Concerts run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are free. This Friday is "Elvis Night." More info here.
