The National Weather service has issued a red flag warningΒ Friday
for areas below 1,000 feet in the Sacramento Valley and a portion of Solano
County.
The warning is in effect fromΒ 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. DryΒ conditions and breezy north winds are expected, the National Weather ServiceΒ said.The forecast is for northerly winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up toΒ 35 mph and relative humidity between 7 and 12 percent.
Any fires that develop or are already burning will likely spreadΒ rapidly, and outdoor burning is not recommended, the National Weather ServiceΒ said.
The red flag warning zone includes the northeast corner of SolanoΒ County away from the large populations of Fairfield, Vacaville and Vallejo,Β NWS forecaster George Cline said.
Temperatures in Solano County will be in the upper 80sΒ FridayΒ withΒ breezes 10-20 mph, Cline said.
"It will cool off to the lower 80s byΒ Saturday, Cline said.
A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions areΒ either occurring now or will shortly, and a combination of low relativeΒ humidity, strong winds and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fireΒ danger.
