Wanted Man Allegedly Drives into Creek Bed Drunk, is Arrested

A Sacramento man got his car stuck in an Elk Grove creek bed early Wednesday morning, then had a run-in with police.

Bradley Eugene Byrd, 46, was drivingΒ a car that hit aΒ "fixed object" on Garrity Drive–in a neighborhoodΒ near Sheldon Road and East Stockton Boulevard–and became stuck in a creek bed, according to an Elk Grove Police Department crime log.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, and when police arrived Byrd was standing outside the car holding the keys, according to the crime log.

Police say he performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and was also found to be wanted for a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

Byrd was arrested and remains in the Sacramento County Main Jail, ineligible for bail. He is due in court Friday.
