Cardiff Dog Days Of Summer Slated Sunday In Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA — The dog days of summer are here! Pupologie Cardiff Dog Days of Summer returns Sunday at Encinitas Community Park.

"Like everything else, the event took a hit during the pandemic," said John Van Zante, spokesperson for Rancho Coastal Humane Society. "Now we're back up to speed and running on all four paws."

The 18th annual event, presented by Cardiff 101 Main Street and the city of Encinitas, will feature booths of pet products, people products, food and a libation lounge.

The city's Pet Health Expo will offer pet services, including microchipping, licensing and vaccinations, thanks to San Diego Humane Society. Rancho Coastal Humane Society will host "Rescue Row," featuring adoptable dogs from 10 rescue organizations.

There will also be eight contests, including best-looking big dog, best-looking medium dog, best-looking small dog, best dressed, best trick, cutest puppy, owner and dog lookalike, and silver faces.

Cardiff Dog Days will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Encinitas Community Park at 425 Santa Fe Drive. Registration for contests begins at 9 a.m.
