Dangerous Rip Currents Expected Off Coast Of Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA — Dangerous rip currents and swimming conditions are expected along the San Diego County coastline, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a beach hazards statement for the coastal areas, including Encinitas.

The beach hazards statement will be in effect from Tuesday morning through Thursday evening, according to the NWS.

Dangerous rip currents are expected. Forecasters predicted surf between 4 to 6 feet, with sets up to 7 feet Tuesday and Wednesday. The highest surf will occur on southwest facing beaches in North County, according to the NWS.

Surf will begin to subside on Thursday.

"Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions," the NWS advised.
