ENCINITAS, CA— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Encinitas, meet Robert McNabb.
If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Kelliey Matthews who nominated Robert McNabb of Encinitas.
What makes your dad extra special?
My dad has always been a great provider and light-hearted father. He worked several jobs and attended night school to get his Masters so we would never be without anything. He loves my mother so very much and even now with his dementia tells her every night how much he loves her and tells her thank you for caring for him. My father is the best dad because of the love and support for over 60 years from a wonderful woman; my mother Fran. Together they made their job as parents look easy and it's their legacy to their 3 children and spouses, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?
He never did anything with the expectation of anything in return. He just wanted us all to be happy. Even if he had to be the "heavy" it was done with love and often a tear in his eye. His sense of humor carried us all through the rough years and continues to carry us along to this day.
Happy Father’s Day to Robert McNabb, and thank you for all you do!
