Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Encinitas

The 37-year-old man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, officials said.

ENCINITAS, CA — A 37-year-old man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Encinitas, authorities said today.

The unidentified pedestrian was reportedly struck by a car just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the 200 block of North El Camino Real, a news release by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies and paramedics from North Coastal sheriff's station attempted life saving measures and the pedestrian was transported to the hospital.

"Unfortunately, the 37-year-old man died at the hospital from his injuries," the release said

The man's identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of his next of kin.

According to the release, the driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, the news release said.
