San Dieguito High School Academy To Dedicate Student Art Gallery

The Faculty and Staff Exhibition will honor the ​people who helped create and foster student artistic voices at The Mustang Gallery.

ENCINITAS, CA — San Dieguito High School Academy will dedicate its student art gallery during a public event Friday at the Encinitas school.

The Faculty and Staff Exhibition will honor the people who helped create and foster student artistic voices at The Mustang Gallery.

The show will be held in memory of former art teacher Neal Glasgow, who died in June. The gallery will be dedicated with a plaque to recognize Glasgow, as well as art teacher John Ratajkowski and Fran Fenical, former principal and founder of the school.

"It is long overdue to dedicate this gallery space to those who had a vision, John Ratajkowski, who helped execute the vision, principal Fran Fenical, and those who continued to steward the vision, Neal Glasgow," said Angela Jackson, art teacher and chair of the school's visual and performing arts department.

The Faculty and Staff Exhibition will kick off the gallery season at San Dieguito Academy and showcase artwork created by members of the school's staff. Student work will continue to be shown throughout the rest of the year.

Community members are invited to attend the opening reception and dedication at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The art gallery is open to students during the school day and to the general public by appointment only. To make a reservation, email angela.jackson@sduhsd.net.
