Fountain Valley Police Accuse Man of Burglarizing Local Salon, Sports Memorabilia Store

Detectives caught up to Christopher Cook in Covina.

From the Fountain Valley Police Department:

On Oct. 15, a hair salon was burglarized overnight in the 18900 block of Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley. The crime was captured on video surveillance.

Investigation by FVPD Detectives revealed Christopher Cook, 24, from Covina was allegedly responsible for the burglary.

Cook was identified from his DMV photograph, and an arrest warrant was obtained.

On Tuesday, FVPD Detectives located Cook at a motel in Covina. Cook was taken into custody in the motel parking lot as he was entering a black Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was reported stolen on Oct. 8 in Covina.

A search of Cook’s motel room and storage unit revealed additional stolen property taken during a commercial burglary at a sports memorabilia store in Fountain Valley on Oct. 24. The property recovered included baseball caps, an i-Pad and hair care products.

Detectives are working with other law enforcement agencies to determine if Cook is responsible for additional burglaries. Cook was arrested on the suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, vehicle theft and additional warrants. Cook was booked into Orange County Jail, and bail was set at $95,000.
