Tragic Fire In Fremont: 1 Dead, 3 Injured, Dozens Displaced
Two people attempted to jump from the building to escape the flames early Sunday morning.

FREMONT, CA — One person died and three others were injured early Sunday after a two-alarm fire broke out at a Fremont apartment complex, according to the Fremont Fire Department.
The fire was reported at 2:53 a.m. at the Waterstone Apartments, 3939 Bidwell Drive. Fire crews arrived within minutes to find heavy flames coming from a fourth-floor unit of Building 25 and multiple residents trapped on balconies.
Two people attempted to jump from the building to escape the flames, fire officials said.

Firefighters immediately began rescue operations while working to extinguish the fire and ventilate the building. A second alarm was called, bringing a total of 31 Fremont Fire personnel to the scene, including seven engines, two trucks, and multiple command staff.
The fire was brought under control by 3:40 a.m., despite the challenges of the large fire and multiple rescues, officials said.

Tragically, one adult died at the scene. Three others were taken to the hospital: one in critical condition, one in serious but stable condition, and one with minor injuries.
All residents of the 30-unit building were displaced due to smoke and water damage. Fremont firefighters are working with property management and the American Red Cross to assist those affected.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fremont Fire Department and Fremont police.
