FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police report that six people were robbed at gunpoint over a two-day period. Suspects were arrested in one case, but the other robberies remain unsolved.
The first robbery happened on Jan. 2. An elderly woman had withdrawn cash from the ATM and was walking back to her vehicle when a suspect grabbed her purse from her shoulder," police said in a community report. "The suspect was holding a semi-automatic firearm. He took the purse and fled in a vehicle that another suspect was driving. Shortly afterward, another law enforcement agency stopped the vehicle in their jurisdiction for a robbery committed in another city. The suspects were found attempting to light the victim’s purse and wallet on fire."
The elderly woman's property was returned to her.
