BART Services Resumes After Downed Tree Blocked Tracks

BART service resumed Wednesday afternoon after trains were blocked by a downed tree for more than two hours, the agency said.

FREMONT, CA — BART service has resumed Wednesday afternoon between the South Hayward and Fremont stations after trains were blocked by a downed tree for more than two hours, according to the transit agency.

The service disruption was reported at about 12:10 p.m. after the tree fell near the Fremont station, and Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses were taking riders between the affected stations.

As of 2:30 p.m., service had resumed between the two stations after the tree was removed from the trackway, though service will be reduced from two tracks to one on BART's Orange Line for the rest of the day. Trains on the Green Line will turn around at the South Hayward station for the rest of Wednesday.
